Here's an update for my LiveJournal readers - I never post here anymore. I'm on Facebook and Twitter (as 'jolarti' ofcourse).
+ Since last year I've been posting a rather quaint daily webcomic. Cuteness combined with morbidity.
I'm also organising the new TranScreen Amsterdam Transgender Filmfestival - which will take place in Cinema De Balie from june 1st - june 5th 2011. The latter is taking up all my time, so I'm only posting a new comic once a week now, something I'll be picking up after june.

The new year is now 36 hours old and so is the new Dutch ID law.
Previous protests to the government did not help. The new law means an obligation to carry your ID from the age of 14 on. Previously no one was obliged to carry an ID or make their identity known at the police in the Netherlands.
Last year I declared the year as the I fucking do care year as a response to blasé people. This year goes from caring to action. Together with others I'll be asking the cops for their ID instead of the other way around. Hm... maybe the testosterone is starting to have its effect on me...

 The oncoming days I will be staying in Amsterdam because I am attending the Dutch Social Forum.
I've tried to get as many queers and TG's together as possible because I want there to be a pink block in sunday's demo, but people here are lazy.
I still have not finished my new film for the 2nd national AIDS benefit in the famous pop temple Paradiso but I'm honored about participating anyway.
I'm exchanging kinky spoken word art with JoE who I met in Berlin. He's such candy.

It is packing its bags for its short holiday to Berlin (possibly the queerest city in Europe).
Last friday I had an appointment with Estelle from Planet Gender which means a possible travelling exhibition for me in both Belgium an Holland in 2006. Unfortunately Del LaGrace Volcano is NOT participating... but I am going to show (and may get paid for) a computer installation piece in Gent in march 2005 (Belgium) along with projects similar to this one which is pretty neat.
The situation these past weeks and days in the Netherlands since the killing of Van Gogh has been increasingly worrying. The country is polarising more every day. Racist attacks have increased and it's mostly lunatics and extremists doing this. Deep down I don't think there is much to worry about and I hope it will pass soon. Although the past 2 years it's become very unpleasent to live in Rotterdam (hometown of Pim Fortuyn). Some really need to look into The A to Z of Trans People's Discrimination at once.
Funny enough last weekend I was in Utrecht (a VERY small town) with cute Paul and deep-(ex)lover-now-deep-friend Ingrid enjoying the Miss Bodytalk election which made Utrecht definately the gay capital of Europe that night something Rotterdam will never be.
 Here the people in the street and in the media are talking about 'freedom of expression' being threatened by the muslims while at the same time the Dutch government is acting like an asshole towards the Dutch Indymedia group. My new friend Martijn (who has become somewhat of a tutor to me) says he thinks this will only increase queer pride activism but I remain sceptic.
Other interesting activists groups ASCII and krakernet are having trouble with their new location and the Amsterdam council. Jee. I'm becoming a bit of a newsreel here. Well. it's important.
Joli(e) news: On december 1st I am showing a new animation (without sound) at the 2nd national AIDS benefit in Amsterdam. But I want to stop doing animated films and start more performances - a major change. I am really relieved some art is finally happening after becoming very passive with the social welfare situation I am in now. In two weeks from now something with hormones is happening in my life, but I am not going to put that in a public post.
*Ooh*... I am almost done packing my bags. In 16 hours from now I will be in Berlin.
I am going to visit the X-TrashOrdinaire Kabaret, I'll also attend a private porn reading, ofcourse I'll visit some museums like the gay museum and simply enjoy this great city. In 2001 I slept in the streets there but this won't be necessary this time. I am staying in the apartment of someone named Mimi who I have never met before but seems very nice. Her friend Toni and her do a lot of funny gender performances. Very interesting.
Mimi teaches Dutch to (mostly) Polish students and she wanted me to talk about the recent hysteria in the country but I am leaving monday morning already so I cannot be present in class which is really sad but we might prepare it anyway. With Toni I've had really fun interactions about art on Tribe so I am looking forward to meet her.

(I got really pissed after the reintegration meeting I had today. I am obliged to meet with them and sign a contract even though the people there have lower education then me and really cannot help me find a job at all. I rather do everything myself then waste my time with patronizing dimwits. It's the stupid system. But at least I got my welfare money today for september and october now finally, so I am going to say 'fuck you' to the social service and head off to Berlin).
